Proper Storage of polyurethane wheel Ø100 mm

For unused spare wheels, correct storage effectively extends service life and prevents premature material aging.

1) Environmental Requirements

Temperature: Ideal storage temperature is 10℃ to 30℃. Excessive heat may soften polyurethane, while low temperatures make it hard and brittle. Warehouse temperature should not exceed 40℃.

Humidity: Relative humidity should be controlled between 50% and 85%. Damp environments may cause metal parts to rust and may affect the bonding between polyurethane and the metal core.

Light exposure: Direct sunlight must be avoided. UV rays and strong light accelerate aging of polyurethane material, leading to yellowing and performance degradation.

Chemical contact: Do not store together with acids, alkalis, oils, grease, or organic solvents (e.g., acetone, butanone). These substances corrode polyurethane.

Heat source distance: Keep at least 1 meter away from heating devices (e.g., heaters, boilers).

2) Placement orientation

For long-term storage, ensure polyurethane wheel Ø100 mm are placed flat with the polyurethane surface not under pressure and not in contact with any corrosive substances. Alternatively, store them vertically (hanging or standing) to avoid deformation from prolonged point loading.

3) Rotation and shelf life

If stored for longer periods (e.g., more than half a month), it is recommended to rotate each wheel by 180℃ every half month to distribute static load evenly and prevent local deformation. In addition, the typical shelf life of polyurethane wheels is one year from the production date. Beyond this period, use with caution.
